McKenzie Family F-Body Club

This is my 1987 Camaro, originally with a 305 4bbl engine that had built up over 132,00 miles on it, so as of October of 2001 she got a nice fresh 350 - built my my Brother Kevin and his buddy Mark. They did a super job on her - new Edelbrock, polished, four barrel carb, Edelbrock intake and a Com Cams camshaft - a bunch of other stuff ( I told them to do what they wanted ). The computer and all of the vacuum hoses are now a thing of the past also. ;-) I also have Dynomax exhaust on it and BFG Comp TA VR 4's on all four corners.
Kevin also had the fresh black paint job done for me in May of 1999 !

Keith Neminover squirted it with the black, added metallic color change rally
stripes, and then sprayed wineberry over the whole thing with four coats of tinted clear-coat !
This car is my baby and earns me many compliments. I know there is not another one like her on the road, so I now also show this car ( I've even had it to the 1/4 mile and dyno shop ) and bought a Dodge Shadow beater car to spare her too much more wear and tear.
Whooo hooo.......

Here are the three cars that make up our McKenzie Family F~Body Club. My 1987 Camaro, my Brother Chris's 1994 Trans Am GT, and our Brother Kevin's 1993 Z~28 show car. That's Kevin with his two kids, Cody and Shelby, working on the Trans Am - he's already got them trained to do clean up and Cody already has a trophy for his little motor scooter painted to match the Z~28, that it won over Harleys in it's class :-). Chris's Trans-Am is the Mustang killer of the group for sure (though Kevin and I do quite well ourselves ), it's a very powerful car to drive and always makes me grin. Some of the mods Chris has made to his car are the cold air induction
and K&N airfilter, a Ligenfelter engine brace, and it rides on big ol' Goodyear GSC's.

This is Kevin's 1993 Z~28, which he found to be very boring with it's
stock look and paint job. In the winter of 1998 he did a full body-off
paint job on this car, all the way down like a restoration job. It has the fine metallic deep red over the body, wineberry flames, color change metallic sprayed over the whole thing, and four heavy coats of clear coat sprayed on until it dripped off and then it was buffed back up. Keith Neminover squirted the paint and did the body work on this car and my own.
Kevin has also added F-1 chrome cold air induction and F-1 ground effects and spoilers to his Z~28.

In late 2000 Kevin put new flame motif aluminum wheels and Goodyear tires on this car and has polished much of the aluminum under the hood and added a Ligenfelter engine brace.
Drive this baby down the road and watch stock late model Camaro drivers
give themselves whiplash to get a better look at her!
Aww, too bad, so sad.

Please click here to see some more pics of this car from the summer of 2000, with the new wheels and tires.

Kevin has also further modified this car so that the hood opens to the FRONT ( like a Corvette ) and it just kicks ass ! Please click here to see that pic !

This lovely 35th Aniversary Camaro SS belongs to our friend Herb. We've known Herb since high school days, back when he used to drive a black 1970 1/2 Z-28, so he gets to be an honorary member in our little club here. ;-) Herb had to wait quite a while for this car after he placed in on order - but I think it was worth the wait to him.

Of course we all love racing and especially DRAG
RACING ! John Force is one of the nicest guys you would ever want to meet
and is also one of the best to ever strap into a funny car. <br>

In memory of Dale Earnhart, he will always be missed.
What a sad day in racing history. :-{
